A mid week run at Upton for Tom with three lovely intermediate horses over a track that had enough questions and with ground that had been worked on to ensure the best going possible in our continuing heatwave.  The verges might be brown on the roads now but Upton had pulled out all the stops to do their utmost for the riders and horses.

Star of the day was CHF Cooliser ( Eliza) who was having her first run back from Tattersalls and she made it a winning one with a 30 dressage and a fast double clear.  That is also enough to have upgraded her to advanced which is always cool!  Eliza now heads to Gatcombe for the intermediate championships and a betting person should not discount her chances there!

Braveheart B ( Dougie) finally made it to his first intermediate start of the year after being balloted and suffering from cancellations and he made a great debut with a 27, a rail and an assured cler cross country over a track that asked plenty of questions.  He heads to Gatcombe for the Novice Championships and Tom really rates this one…

The Magician (Mars) was not in Tom’s good books after rolling 2 poles at Barbury but he was great today with a 32, a single rail and a good clear cross country over his first intermediate track as well.

Tom is back tomorrow with novices.. the show rolls on but life is good with the perma sunshine we are having!
