A busy day in boringly cool weather for Team McEwen whilst we in the UK enjoy a return to summer with a fabulous 28 degrees and not a cloud in the sky today!

Chatsworth Diamond (Bill) posted a 30 in his CI2*L which is a credit to him and to Tom’s training as he has come a long way in a short space of time this year. He is a good jumper and will definitely cope with the conditions so it’s hopefully onwards and upwards for him.

Dreamaway ( Dreamer) has been on a bit of a roll this year with Tom and the dressage was no exception when he posted a a 28.5 in a very competitive CI4*S section to lie in eventual 7th after a huge class had done dressage.  CHF Cooliser ( Eliza ) is in the same class and despite her not quite having Dreamers’ experience she clocked up a very respectable 31.3 which currently leaves her in 22nd.

Figaro van het Broekstof (Fig) is in the ERM class and having been lightly competed since his superb Luhmuhlen 5 star run for the runner up slot is just getting back into the swing of things,  He was in the British Open at Gatcombe but that being on home ground he was pretty fresh  and today he just showed a couple of ‘power’ moments where he got away from Tom in the canter work.  It’s actually great to see that Fig heads into the Autumn season fresh and fun of beans with so much energy. He still sits on a 30.1 which is by no means off the pace and with the ground being pretty holding still cross country there will definitely be a shake up of the order in the jumping phases.

Fig can be seen jumping tomorrow
