Aston Le Walls

It seems not a month goes by in the season without the obligatory trip to Aston Le Walls!  There is a reason we keep going back however, ground as good as it can be and organisers Nigel and Ann Taylor know exactly what competitors want and provide it every time.  How entries secretary Tissie Reason stays sane is beyond me but she is always incredibly accommodating and helpful.

A relatively easy day for Tom with just three smart rides for three top 5 placings.  Braveheart B ( Dougie) was the dressage star with a 28 and a double clear with just 0.8 to add cross country was good enough for 5th spot in a very competitive OI.  Dream Big (Dreamy) came fresh from her ROR class at Chatsworth and is clearly in cracking form! A 33 dressage and a clear showjumping… never easy to do at Aston… set her up nicely for a speedy spin cross country and adding nothing to her dressage left her in 3rd spot.

Star of the day was Coilbri de Riverland who won his intermediate section with a 29 dressage and a double clear.  He is a smart young horse who had a good novice record and is now getting together a very good intermediate CV.

Tom picked up a win on Shannondale Aero and a 2nd on Something Extra ( Sonny) at Smiths Lawn on Tuesday as well as a top 12 run on Chatsworth Diamond ( Bill).  MHS Pop Star ( Jack) and Royal Spring ( Ralph) continued their learning curve at novice level and tomorrow sees Tom and Toledo de Kerser at Hartpury in the CI4*S dressage. This is why we use the hashtag #SleepinNovember!
